Apparently this time round its Sydney's turn to host this massive Catholic event proclaiming the Catholic news...with the Pope as center of attention ( A girl who met him actually almost fainted out of delirious joy : P )
Its quite cool seeing all the different cheery groups walking around, gives you some sort of festive feeling...
BUT I REALLY HATE THE ROAD BLOCKS! The buses dont go to certain places and buses from the city dont stop at my place so I have to cab cos I have a horrid 10pm curfew for U18s and its ridiculous. Yesterday my Cab fee soar to an all time high of $27 au dollars cos the Pope was in Randwick which is near my place and the taxi had to go into all the weird small lanes to get me home.Detours COST ALOT.
Cabbie: Cant stand this Pope thing, who gives a *&^%$#@...not everyones catholic *Rolling his thick middle east accent.
Me:*Bewildered Er yea...a bit annoying cos there are all these roadblocks
Cabbie:EXACTLY!HOW ARE PEOPLE GETTING HOME.)(&^%%$@&^#&#*
Me:*Chortles nervously. At least more people take cabs, u get more business.
Cabbie:But SERIOUSLY THE POPE DOESNT RULE THE ROADS.YADAYADA..._(*&^@^@
Me:*watching the metre jumping.Sniffs. Errr I only have $25 in my wallet cos I didnt know it get that high.
Cabbie: YOU AUSSIE?
Me:*what does that got to do with my question. Smiles politely...No Singaporean
Cabbie: AHHH I LIKE SINGAPORE, ALOT OF PRETTY GIRLS
Me*:Nervous wreck now. Erm just stop me here its pretty near, its hard to get through those road blocks upfront.
Cabbie: ok ill accept yr $25 cos you seem like a very nice girl.
Me: Gulps. thx and runs out of the cab =P
